IP Packet dealy variation
This section contains the definition of the IP Packet Dealay Variation (IPDV), it's accuracy, some
recommnedation about the sampling and the statistics which should be
retrieved from the samples.
A Singleton Definition for IP Packet Delay Variation
The definition below is the one from the IETF IPPM RFC 3393 with
some slight changes to highligths our needs (introduction of ToS and version field) .
Metric Parameters
- Src, the IP address of a host
- Dst, the IP address of a host
- S, a ToS value
- V, the IP version field
- L, the packet lenght in bits
The Following parameters have to be discussed
- T1, T2, two times
- F, a function to select unambiguoulsy two packets
- I1, I2, times which marks the interval in which the two packets are selected
